The management of a company has to be able to perceive and understand the position of their organisation in the rapidly changing, lively network environment. The ability to work as a part of different networks and to build one's partner and network relationships are essential prerequisites for the success of a network manager. The Managing Networks programme provides  a modern and up-to-date view of the contents of cooperation and network thinking as well as their management.

The goal of the Managing Networks programme is to develop the participants' network management thinking to see business networks and cooperation relationships as strategic resources which can be managed and have common goals and aims. 

Our aim in the programme is

  • to define the key partnerships in your work as a strategic resource that can and should be managed

Programme contents

 
Seminar 1: Role of strategic network management, Helsinki
  • General view and terminology of networking and network management.
  • Stakeholder analysis and business relationships from the strategic perspective
  • Participation in the Nordic Business Forum 2023
    • In the seminar held at the Expo and Convention Centre Messukeskus you can network with over 6500 participants and listen to brilliant business thinkers and speakers.
    • Entry to Nordic Business Forum is included in the programme fee!

 Seminar 2: Networks and innovations, Jyväskylä
  • Phenomena of network research and network thinking development and their rise to key factors for successful business

Seminar 3: Managing networks in practice, Helsinki
  • Central challenges and biggest development targets of network management
  • Management of risks in business relationships, agreements as strategic tools
  • Case examples and experiences of managing networks

In the development assignment

you will form an image of the networks of your company and specify the most significant collaboration partners and stakeholder relationships. You will also analyze six of your network relationships from a managerial perspective. The assignment helps you to compile and process the programme teachings for the use of your organisation. It provides you with a tool for network analysis and your company with an operational plan for the development of its network management.

Programme scope and fee

The programme fee is €3,700 + 24% VAT. It includes the seminars, entry to Nordic Business Forum, feedback on the personal assignments and the related materials and conference packages during the seminars. Travel and accommodation and the literature are not included. The fee is invoiced after the start of the programme.

The scope of the programme is 6 ECTS credits of AMBA (Association of MBAs), AACSB and BGA-accredited University of Jyväskylä Executive MBA studies. You can also complete the programme as an independent module. The programme is taught in Finnish.
