In the EMBA Business Risks and Financial Management programme you will
- highlight and clarify the key factors in your organisation’s financial success and reflect on the business risks as a whole
- understand the key philosophies of management accounting and strategic accounting from the perspective of organisational financial management
- look at the financial opportunities, resources, challenges and business risks of your organisation with new eyes and perceive ways to advance your organisation's financial success
- recognise the key factors in your organisation's financial success and bring them forth so they can be managed
The main objective in the programme is to innovate new ideas for the further business development and identify concrete actions that can boost the financial success of your organisation. The programme is taught in Finnish.
Programme contents
Seminar 1: Financial management and decision-making
- Big picture of financial management. "Economy is everywhere" philosophy
- Decision-making and accounting methods
- Pitfalls of executive decision-making
Seminar 2: Strategic questions of economy
- Key ideas of strategic management accounting and their application
- Special issues of financial management, e.g. real option thinking
- Financial project workshop, introduction and coaching
Seminar 3: Business risks
- Business risks and their management. Explicit and implicit risks.
- Concept and modes of agreement. Agreements and network of agreements from the managerial perspective.
Programme scope and fee
The programme fee is €3,700 + 25,5% VAT. The fee includes the seminar teaching, teaching materials and coaching between seminars as well as coffee and lunch. Accommodation and travelling costs are not included. The fee is invoiced after the start of the programme.
The scope of the programme is 6 ECTS credits of AMBA (Association of MBAs), AACSB and BGA-accredited University of Jyväskylä Executive MBA studies. You can also complete the programme as an independent module.
